The following is the nomination letter from Orienteering Waikato.
Kaye has been the Treasurer of Orienteering Waikato since 2015, serving an impressive 11 years and counting.
As Treasurer, Kaye excels in her role. Not only are core transactions handled with efficiency and accuracy, but all aspects of the club’s financial management have been exceptional under her leadership. Thanks to her efforts, the club is in a significantly stronger financial
position than it was in 2015, despite steady investments in maps and equipment.
One notable example of Kaye’s remarkable contributions is the annual financial report she prepares for the AGM. In addition to the core financial statements, Kaye produces a 1-2 page commentary and analysis that is so thorough and insightful, there have been no
questions raised at the AGM for many years!
But that’s not all—since the club introduced pre-entry during the pandemic, Kaye has also taken on the responsibility of managing the entry process. This involves:
- Setting up the entry system
- Managing event entries
- Addressing queries and late changes
- Reconciling payments and following up with overdue payers
And there’s even more! Kaye generously volunteers her time in various other ways, including:
- Organizing the printing of the club’s race maps
- Assisting with event promotion
- Setting courses annually
- Many days marking and upgrading the tracks for our recent ‘Save the Sanctuary’ fundraiser rogaine
Kaye’s quiet yet efficient administrative skills are a cornerstone of the club’s growth over the past decade. Her dedication has played a vital role in the significant improvements in membership, participation, and financial stability.
